Don Brandt Awarded Faith Family and Freedom Award at 2007 God and Country Festival

Nampa, Idaho - The 40Th Anniversary of the God & Country Family Festival drew a huge crowd somewhere around 10,000 to hear four great musical groups and see a surprised Don Brandt accept the "Faith Family and Freedom" award. Brandt is a Nampa native who is active, usually behind the scenes, in many Treasure Valley organizations; Don has been active in the Salvation Army Food Drive each year, the NNU Foundation board, Boise Rescue Mission, and was the finance and fundraising chairman for the recent Louis Palau Treasure Valley Festival. The award was named after the first recipient valley businessman, Loren Ellis and given to an individual who espouses the attributes as they work in the community to bring faith and patriotism to other’s lives. Loren was one of the inspirational business of our community who helped keep the God & Country Festival alive and worked tirelessly for the event until his untimely passing in 1999. Many sponsors and event goers helped support this volunteer effort to keep God and Country alive in the Treasure Valley through donations before and at the event. On behalf of the God and Country Association and our president Don Wixom and the City of Nampa thank you for your support and attendance and we’ll see you the Wednesday before the 4th of July – July 2, 2008.
