Katrina Nicolayeff with the Junior Jammers

🎻 Katrina Nicolayeff Performing Live!

Katrina, a native Idahoan, was born and raised in the great state and remains a resident today. Katrina is happily married to her husband of 20 years and is a proud mother of two beautiful children.

At the young age of 16 months, Katrina embarked on her musical journey by playing rhythms on her fiddle. At 18 months old, Katrina began learning old-time fiddle tunes under the guidance of her mother, Bobbie Pearce, a highly accomplished fiddler, and respected teacher, and this prepared her to compete in her first fiddle contest at 2 years old. As a child, Katrina won numerous contests nationwide, including 3 National Champion titles in the Small Fry, Junior Junior, and Junior divisions, at the National Oldtime Fiddlers' Contest in Weiser, Idaho.

Katrina was the first woman to be crowned National Grand Champion for the 5th time, equaling the men's record, at the National Old-time Fiddlers' Contest. In 2021, Katrina broke the record, winning National Grand Champion for the 6th time and she remains the record holder. Katrina broke an additional record in 2021, winning her 4th title as Grand Master Fiddler Champion in Nashville, Tennessee.
